Currently Senior Executive VP, International Business at Cassidy & Associates, Mark D. Cowan is a former partner at Patton Boggs LLP, a leading Washington based international law firm with specialties in public policy, sovereign representation, business law, litigation, intellectual property and trade. Mr. Cowan joined Patton Boggs after a long and successful career in the Washington public affairs industry.
He served as president of Columbus Public Affairs and as Chief Executive Officer of Newmyer Associates, a public affairs and strategic intelligence firm. He previously held the position of vice chairman of Cassidy & Associates and a founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Jefferson Group. Mr. Cowan also served at Gray & Company and Hill & Knowlton Public Relations, counseling numerous domestic and international clients. Mr. Cowan served abroad with the Central Intelligence Agency and as a rated Air Force Officer in fighter aircraft earlier in his career. In addition, Mr. Cowan has held presidential appointments in three administrations.
Ben Schlatka’s passion for growing and leading science based businesses led him to co-found MC10 in 2008. His multidisciplinary expertise in both material science and electronics uniquely position him to lead MC10’s partnership activities and growth across its Medical, Consumer, and Government segments. Mr. Schlatka’s career has been spent scaling technology enabled businesses. Prior to MC10, Ben helped grow Nantero’s carbon nanotube electronics business (sold to Lockheed Martin Corporation) and led marketing and sales for a Volunteer Solutions.org (winner 1998 MIT 50K, sold to the United Way).
He began his entrepreneurial career as one of the founding team members of IBM’s Networking Hardware microelectronics business – today greater than a billion dollars in sales. Mr. Schlatka has been an invited key note speaker at Fortune 100 companies on strategies for growing disruptive science driven innovations. His other passion is coaching individuals on building their careers in technology and serves as an executive coach at the Harvard Business School. Mr. Schlatka earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School and holds 2 issued patents with 11 pending.
General Fuller served over 30 years in the US Army, last leading the Program Executive Office Soldier as the senior procurement official responsible for equipping 1.4 million Soldiers for combat operations managing budgets up to 11 billion dollars.
Prior to that, as Deputy Commanding General for the US Army’s Research Development and Engineering Command, he directed the technology development efforts of eight unique government research and development centers.
Angelo Meijers is the founder and former CEO of ‘Impact Information Management’, a very successful IT company based in the Netherlands.
Since moving to Canada, Mr. Meijers began consulting, writing, coaching and organizing personal development workshops.
Robert Clyde retired from a successful career with AIG where he had oversight of all AIG’s businesses in Japan and Korea, including four life insurance companies, four property-casualty companies, four asset management companies, and several supporting service companies. He was also Senior Vice President of AIG parent, American International Group, Inc., Chairman of AIG Star Life (2008-2009), and Chairman of AIG Edison Life (2008-2009).
While in Korea, Robert served on the US-Korea Business Council as an executive committee member and he is currently serving on the board of directors of World Hope International and World Resources Group, both non-governmental organizations.
Nicolette Keith earned an Arts and Science Bachelor’s degree from the University of Victoria and obtained the Certified General Accountants (CGA) designation thereafter. She has over 18 years of industry experience in both the public and private sectors. She has also spent extensive time abroad engaged in the study of languages (Spanish and Italian) which has benefited her well in the area of international business.
